Oversize and Overweight Vehicle Permits |

If you're moving an oversized or overweight vehicle, load, object, or structure that exceeds of the limits provided by the Highway Traffic Act in the City of St. Catharines, you must apply for a permit. Applying for a permitPlease complete our Oversized/Overweight Permit Application and email the form to our Road Services Technician. Make sure to include a sketch outlining the vehicle dimensions and travel route. You must provide a minimum of $5 million liability insurance with the Corporation of the City of St. Catharines named as additional insured. Please noteThe permit is only valid for road sections that are under the jurisdiction of the City of St. Catharines. Street Banner Permits |

The City of St. Catharines allows street banners in some locations for eligible participants. Learn how to apply and install your banners today. Who can install banners?Street banners can only be installed by charitable organizations or to promote community activities. Street banners are not permitted to use as advertising for religious or commercial purposes. How to apply for a street banner permit?If you are eligible to install a street banner, you must apply for a street banner permit. Submit the form by sending us an email. Street banners must be made in accordance with the City ‘s specifications. Please note, you must provide a minimum of $5 million liability insurance with The Corporation of The City of St. Catharines named as the additional insured. In some cases, the Region of Niagara must also be named on the insurance certificate. FeesYou are responsible for all costs associated with creating, installing and maintaining the banners. Special Events Permits |

If your event requires a road closure, a Special Event Permit is required. In addition to road closures, you will require a Special Event Permit if your event involves any of the following:
Event Permit Applications are required 7 months in advance of a new major event, and 4 months in advance of a new minor event. Reoccuring annual events are required to submit their applications before November 30th. Please review our Special Event Planning Guide to learn of the items that may be required to successfully execute your Special Event. Events with less than 150 people require a general reservation, permit and insurance. You can apply for a permit, and waiving of fees if required, via our online Special Events Permit Request Application. |
