Council has approved the 2024 Strategic Asset Management Policy, which meets all provincially legislated requirements.
The updated policy primarily focuses on the City's increasing dedication to environmental stewardship, alongside a commitment to accountability and transparency. It prominently highlights the City's initiatives aimed at preserving existing assets and constructing new ones that are resilient to climate change.
The Asset Management System (ARMS) project is the next major step and a cornerstone element of the City’s transition to becoming a more proactive asset manager and customer-focused service provider. The move to a unified work and asset management system will make the City’s processes more efficient by leveraging the capabilities of modern, industry standard software systems and field technology for the Municipal Works and Engineering Facilities and Environmental Services Departments. Perhaps most importantly, the system will also enable the provision of timely and accurate work status information to the public. Learn more in our update and Phase 1 Study Report.
