At the City of St. Catharines, we recognize the diverse needs of our community and strive to provide services and facilities that are accessible for everyone. We promote accessibility through the development of policies, procedures and practices that are consistent with the core principles of integration, independence, dignity and equal opportunity for persons with disabilities.

Translation services

As part of our commitment to delivering an excellent customer service experience for all citizens, translation services are offered by phone or in person at City Hall and the Kiwanis Aquatics Centre through LanguageLine Solutions. We offer translations in more than 240 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL) translation through video chat (in-person only) with an interpreter.

Facilities and accessible design

City facilities, new and old, are built or renovated to a high level of accessibility. We follow the Facility Accessibility Design Standards to ensure that City facilities are accessible.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

The City of St. Catharines' Accessibility Advisory Committee makes recommendations to City Council regarding accessibility services and facilities to help identify and remove accessibility barriers throughout the city.
