The 2026 Spring Tree Giveaway will take place at Lancaster Park located at 31 Wood Street from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Online pre-order and curbside pickup only. Please refer to the timeslots below for each tree species pickup time.
Registration will open to St. Catharines' residents on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 8 a.m. and will close Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 4 p.m. or when all trees have been claimed.
There is a limit of one tree per household. Households trying to obtain more than one tree may have all of their orders cancelled.
The number of trees is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close as stock is reserved.
Trees are available to St. Catharines residents only. Proof of residency such as a driver’s licence or recent utility bill may be required at pickup.
Residents interested in picking up a free tree must reserve a tree in advance online and present a copy of their QR code at time of pickup (digital or paper). QR codes will be emailed to the email address you provide on the online request form. If you wish to pick up trees for someone that has pre-registered online, you must also present their QR code (digital or print) at time of pickup.
The tree species available at the 2026 Spring Tree Giveaway include:
- Tulip tree / Liriodendron tulipifera
- Red oak / Quercus rubra
- Chokecherry / Prunus virginiana
- Eastern white pine / Pinus strobus
Pick-up times for each tree species are:
- Tulip tree: 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
- Red oak: 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Chokecherry: 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
- Eastern white pine: 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
