The City of St. Catharines will be hosting the 2024 Spring Tree Giveaway on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
*NEW LOCATION* The 2024 event will take place at Lancaster Park located at 31 Wood Street from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Online pre-order and curbside pickup only. Please refer to the timeslots below for each tree species pickup time.
Registration will open to St. Catharines residents on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 8 a.m. and will close Friday, April 26, 2024 at 4 p.m. Click here to register for your free tree.
The number of trees are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close as stock is reserved.
Trees are available to St. Catharines residents only. Proof of residency such as a driver’s licence or recent utility bill will be required at pickup.
Residents interested in picking up a free tree must reserve a tree in advance online and present a copy of their QR code at time of pickup (digital or paper). QR codes will be emailed to the email address you provide on the online request form. If you wish to pick up trees for someone that has pre-registered online, you must also present their QR code (digital or print) at time of pickup.
The tree species available at the 2024 Spring Tree Giveaway include:
- American Beech/Fagus americana
- Hackberry/Celtis occidentalis
- Pin Cherry/Prunus pensylvanica
- Spicebush/Lindera benzoin
Pick-up times for each tree species are:
- American Beech: 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
- Hackberry: 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Pin Cherry: 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
- Spicebush: 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Please note there is a limit of one tree per household. Households trying to obtain more than one tree may have all of their requests voided.
