For any new requests for outdoor pickleball courts, staff follow the City’s Parks Renewal Plan. The Parks Renewal Plan prioritizes asset renewal based on asset condition, as well as health and safety considerations, with the assets in the poorest condition being prioritized for replacement. The Parks Renewal Plan focuses on playgrounds, basketball courts and tennis courts. Through the City’s Parks Renewal Plan, when existing tennis courts are redeveloped, it is the goal of staff to create multi-use courts whenever possible. As such, Bogart Street Park and Valleyview Park are both scheduled for redevelopment in fall 2022 / spring 2023 and will include pickleball lines.
