Still time to get active with City's winter program registration

The City’s winter session of recreation programming is set to begin next week, and there are still a variety of programs with spaces available for you to get active physically and mentally.

While some programs are filled up and with wait lists, the City still has programming open that will cater to all ages, and all abilities. Registration remains open online, while in-person registration can be completed at St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.

City appoints Sandor Csanyi as Director of Legal and Clerk Services

The City of St. Catharines has announced Sandor Csanyi has been appointed the new Director of Legal and Clerk Services and City Solicitor.

With more than a dozen years of law practice, including about half of that with the City of St. Catharines, Csanyi will step into the role permanently, after serving as acting director since the retirement of Heather Salter last April.

City facilities to remain closed on Dec. 24 due to winter storm

City will open Market Square again for warming centre on Saturday

 The City of St. Catharines has announced all facilities will remain closed on Saturday, Dec. 24, in anticipation of poor conditions due to the winter storm.

This follows the early closure of all facilities on Dec. 23. While administrative offices were scheduled to be closed as part of usual business hours, the City has decided to close the following facilities, and cancel all programming, on Dec. 24:

The City of St. Catharines will be closing facilities at noon today (Friday, Dec. 23) due to the winter storm. The following facilities will be affected:

• City Hall, Enterprise Centre and administrative offices
• St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
• Russell Avenue Community Centre and Port Weller Community Centre
• The Dunlop Drive and West St. Catharines Older Adult Centres
• St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre
• Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre
