The City of St. Catharines is proud to announce the installation of two new commemorative crosswalks honouring Canada’s veterans. The symbolic crossings serve as a lasting tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended our nation.
The crosswalks are located at:
The downtown installation is highly visible outside of City Hall and is at the start of the annual Remembrance Day Parade. The Port Dalhousie installation was placed in front of the Cenotaph memorial in recognition of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 350 in Port Dalhousie celebrating its 80th anniversary.
“These crosswalks stand as powerful symbols of remembrance and respect for veterans,” said St. Catharines Mayor Mat Siscoe. “We are honoured to dedicate these spaces to those who have served, and we hope they inspire reflection and gratitude in all who pass by.”
Residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the crosswalks and take a moment to reflect on the legacy of Canada’s military heroes.
