The City will take a broad, consultative approach, in determining the details of relocation for a monument that has stood in front of City Hall for over 134 years.
On Monday evening City Council voted unanimously to consult several organizations in the development of a relocation plan for the statue of Pte. Alexander Watson that currently stands in front of City Hall.

Millions of dollars will pour into the City’s transit infrastructure in the years ahead, flowing from Federal, Provincial and municipal streams.
On Thursday morning, politicians from across Niagara gathered virtually to announce investments totalling more than $78 million dollars into 31 public transit projects across the region. In an effort to ensure parking is available for businesses as they reopen downtown, and employees returning to work, paid parking will return to the city core next month.
During its most recent meeting, City Council approved reinstating paid parking after a three-month hiatus in charging drivers for spaces on streets, off-street lots and garages.
As businesses reopen, drawing both visitors and employees downtown, demand for parking, most notably convenient on-street spaces, will continue to increase....

Firefighters will still be hitting the streets this Monday to help educate residents on fire safety, although it will be delivered a bit differently this summer during the current State of Emergency.
