Notice of Facer Street Design Study public open house

The Project

The City of St. Catharines has initiated a study to develop a vision for the revitalization of Facer Street, from Niagara Street to Grantham Avenue, into more of a pedestrian-focused corridor that supports the City’s goal of improving Facer Street’s quality, comfort, and appearance as both a transportation route and a neighbourhood destination.

Project Background

Facer Street is identified as an intensification corridor in the City’s Official Plan and an important community asset supporting the larger Facer neighbourhood. Facer Street is a mixed-use corridor with a diverse mix of food retailers, businesses, housing, an elementary school and Boys and Girls Club of Niagara. Making Facer Street more pedestrian-friendly would increase the vitality, livability, and vibrancy of the neighbourhood.

Public Engagement

Join us at our first Public Open House to learn more about the project and share your ideas. The open house will be drop-in style, featuring a brief presentation on alternative roadway concepts being considered, a summary of previous engagement feedback, and an opportunity for public comment. Staff will be available to hear comments and answer questions.
