As directed by Council, the City of St. Catharines is proposing an amendment to the 2020 Community Improvement Plan (2020CIP). The City wants to hear from residents on proposed amendment to the 2020CIP.
The amendment would allow the property owner of 142 Queenston St. to incur retroactive project costs prior to entering into a CIP agreement. Currently under the 2020CIP, eligible project costs incurred prior to execution of a formal CIP Agreement with the municipality are not retroactively eligible for the Tax Increment Finance (TIF) or Brownfield Tax Increment Finance (BTIF) incentive.
Establishing this permission is contingent on the City receiving a complete CIP application for 142 Queenston St. which meets the program requirements.
A public meeting for the proposed 2020CIP amendment is scheduled on Tuesday, April 29, at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 50 Church St. (on the third floor).
Feedback from the community at large will be welcome in person or electronically. Visit stcatharines.ca/Council for information on how to access and participate in the meeting, and how to request and make a delegation before Council.
The City is also accepting feedback in advance via: https://www.engagestc.ca/CIPAmendment
We look forward to residents' participation and valuable input in shaping the future of our community.
The community is encouraged to review the amendment materials and submit any questions or comments online at engageSTC.ca/CIPAmendment, or in person at the Planning and Building Services Department, City Hall, 50 Church St., St. Catharines.
