The City of St. Catharines is reviewing how parking is managed across the community and is inviting residents to help shape the future of parking in the city.
The City has retained a consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of parking services, with a focus on improving operations, enforcement, and the user experience in key areas including the downtown core, Lakeside Park, Sunset Beach and Jones Beach.
A public meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2025, in the Atrium Room at City Hall, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the study, speak with the project team, and ask questions. The meeting is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a presentation taking place in Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m.
To help guide the review, the City is also encouraging residents to share their experiences and feedback through a short online survey. The survey is open until June 16, 2025, at engageSTC.ca/ParkingReview.
“Whether you park downtown every day or only visit occasionally, we want to hear from you,” said Parking Supervisor Lisa Read. “Your input will help us explore ways to improve service delivery, modernize our systems, and make parking more user-friendly.”
The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and will help the project team better understand how, when and where people park; identify concerns with signage, payment and availability; and explore opportunities to enhance operations.
