Victoria Lawn Cemetery

On July 22, 2024, City of St. Catharines’ Council passed a motion directing the process for the replacement of a headstone belonging to the late Mr. John Lindsay, located in Old Cemetery, Section A, Division 3, Lot East ½ 2.  A new monument will be erected, and the old monument will be buried in the existing grave.

The City is asking for any next-of-kin of the late Mr. John Lindsay, who died on Jan. 31, 1876, to contact the City. Please submit feedback or submissions to Dan Cooper by 4 p.m. on June 4, 2025. Comments can be left at 905.980.7127; or by email: dcooper@stcatharines.ca

After June 4, 2025, if there are no legitimate objections, the City intends to proceed with the new monument installation, and burial of the existing headstone.
