With City facilities closed, and in-person gatherings limited, in response to COVID-19 Planning and Building Services is moving to an electronic format for open houses related to important planning matters such as official plan amendments and zoning by-law amendments.

The Planning and Building Services Department is hosting an Online Open House on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 6 p.m. to provide information and receive public input regarding an Application for Site Plan Approval for lands located at 150 Glendale Avenue. The proposed development is for a private road development with a total of 72 units consisting of 55 stacked townhouse units and 17 street townhouse units. The stacked townhouses are proposed to a maximum height of 11.45 metres and the standard townhouses to a maximum of 10.22 metres. The proposal includes demolition of the existing Mountainview Church, addition of two pedestrian connections to Glendale Avenue, a vehicular entrance from Valerie Drive and a total of 114 parking spaces. Copies of all submitted plans and documents may be viewed by contacting the Planning and Building Services Department now, at the Open House, or by navigating to www.stcatharines.ca/development. 150 Glendale Ave. Electronic Open House, April 6, 2021Members of the public will be able to watch proceedings through the City’s YouTube Channel and will be able to participate as detailed below. Residents can participate in the Open House in three different ways:
Electronic ParticipationThose wishing to participate electronically via Zoom video-conferencing technology must register by completing our online form before the date specified above. Only one individual will be permitted to speak at a time and group delegations are not permitted. Participants are not permitted to share visuals or materials during the open house. However, materials may be submitted in advance for the Planner to share during the open house and must be received no later than April 5, 2021. Delegates are required to participate in a test Zoom session with City staff. Testing will cover the audio and video quality of the participant's device; reviewing the process for the participant to join the meeting; and reviewing the participant process. During the test session, City staff will also discuss the process for submitting visuals or materials for inclusion in the Open House. The test session will be held Monday, April 5 at 10 a.m. The test session should take less than 15 minutes to complete. Note: other members of the public may be in the same test session. City staff will contact you via email with your test session information. |

The Planning and Building Services Department is hosting an Online Open House on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. to provide information and receive public input regarding an Application for Site Plan Approval for lands located at 1024-1036 Vansickle Road North. The proposed development is for two blocks of stacked townhouses, consisting of 39 units each and at a height of four storeys (14 metres). The proposal includes one vehicular entrance to a surface parking area, with 10 parking spaces and another entrance to an underground parking area, with 95 parking spaces.
