Pay a parking ticket

The City offers several options to pay a parking ticket, ranging from online to in person. Please see the options listed below. You can also find information on disputing a ticket in the frequently asked questions section.

You can pay a parking ticket online. A convenience fee applies for credit card transactions. We accept parking ticket payments using Visa or MasterCard through our online service provider, Paymentus. 

Please be advised that it may take up to two business days for online payments to be processed. In order to avoid any additional fees or penalties, payments must be received at our office by the specified due date.

Important information for online credit card payments via Paymentus: Please use capital letters when entering your penalty notice information and licence plate information.


Pay by mail

You can pay by mail by sending a cheque or money order payable to the address:

Please note: Do not send cash in the mail.

Pay in person

Visit Parking Services on the second floor of City Hall, 50 Church St. to pay in person. You can leave either a cheque or money order payments in the drop box at the James Street entrance to City Hall. Please do not put cash in the drop box.

What happens if I don't pay a parking ticket?

If you do not pay a parking ticket, the Ministry of Transportation (Service Ontario) will deny renewal of your licence plate. You must pay any outstanding fees before you can renew or apply for a new vehicle licence permit.

How do I dispute a parking ticket?

You can request a meeting with a Screening Officer to review the ticket within 15 calendar days beginning on the date of issuance. You can set up a meeting by:
  • Completing a Screening Request form online
  • Submitting your request in person, by visiting Parking Services on the second floor of City Hall, 50 Church St. Please note that your appointment will not be held the same day.  

What will happen next?

You'll be provided an appointment with a Screening Officer who will make a decision after reviewing your appeal. They are bound by our Conflict of Interest Guidelines. You can request your Screening to be held virtually or in person. In person appointments take place on the second floor of City Hall in the Screening Room.

What if I don't agree with the final decision?

If you are not satisfied with the decision made by the Screening Officer, you can request a review by a Hearing Officer within 15 calendar days of your screening decision by Emailing us a completed Hearing Request form.

You will be notified once a hearing appointment is booked. The Hearing Officer's decision is final.
