Mayor Mat Siscoe has ended the State of Emergency declared in response to the significant flooding that impacted St. Catharines following extraordinary rainfall in late July and early August. Ending the State of Emergency does not mean flood recovery is over. The decision to terminate the State of Emergency under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act was made as immediate emergency conditions have stabilized and the City continues its transition from emergency response to ongoing recovery.

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre is excited to invite residents to join and celebrate its 15th annual Guided Spirit Walks at Victoria Lawn Cemetery this month marking the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of St. Catharines.

The last long weekend of summer is just around the corner, with Labour Day falling on Monday, Sept. 7. Residents can make the most of it with plenty of City activities and amenities to enjoy.

The city is peppered with neighbourhood parks – playgrounds designed around providing leisure spaces for local families to play, participate in sports, and enjoy some green space. One such park is Fitzgerald Street Park, originally known as Queensway Park a dedicated softball park in the city.
