Minor Variance Application details (A-40/26)
Application A-40/26 seeks relief from the City of St Catharines Zoning By-law 2013-283, as amended, for the following variances for the proposed construction of an attached garage:
1. A reduction of the minimum exterior side yard setback from 4.0 m to 3.07m.
2. To permit the attached garage to project 1.52m beyond the corresponding wall of the dwelling unit from the required that garage shall be flushed with or recessed beyond the corresponding wall of the dwelling unit.
Hearing Participation
Please submit any comments in writing to the Secretary Treasurer by 12 p.m. on July 15, 2026, or you can appear in person and make a verbal presentation to the Committee.

An appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) may be dismissed if no written or verbal submissions were made at the hearing before the Committee gives or refuses to give approval to an application. Pursuant to the More Homes Built Faster Act, Appeals may be submitted by the Applicant, the Minister or a specified person or public body that has an interest in the matter.
Please note that all Committee of Adjustment Hearings will be held in-person at City Hall on the 3rd floor in Council Chambers. City Hall is located at 50 Church Street, St. Catharines, Ontario (Please use the James Street entrance).
