Charities and community groups can apply for 2026-27 Niagara IceDogs tickets

From first goals to first cheers, the City of St. Catharines is helping to create unforgettable moments for children and youth. Local charities and community groups can apply for a chance to experience the excitement of OHL hockey from the City's private suite at the Meridian Centre.

Applications open Saturday, Aug. 1 for the City’s Meridian Centre Community Use Program. Registered charities, incorporated non-profit organizations, and minor not-for-profit sport associations serving St. Catharines and Niagara are invited to apply for 12 free suite tickets to 2026-27 IceDogs home games. Applications close at 11:59 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24. Apply at stcatharines.ca/communityuseprograms.

"The Meridian Centre Community Use Program is about giving back to the organizations that make our community such a vibrant place to live and helping them create memorable experiences,” said Brianne Wilson, the City’s Community and Events Supervisor. “Last season alone, we supported local groups with tickets to 34 IceDogs games, creating opportunities for connection, celebration and community spirit.”

The City will match eligible applicants to a select number of games to use tickets to either provide an unforgettable game-day experience or use for fundraising initiatives. Preference will be given to organizations located in St. Catharines that provide programs and services focused on children and youth. Applications will be qualified based on the program's eligibility and evaluation criteria. If demand exceeds availability, tickets will be allocated through a random draw among eligible applicants.

"This program is a chance to introduce a young person to their first IceDogs game, celebrate the hard work of community volunteers and athletes, or help an organization raise funds for its programs," Wilson added. "It's about bringing organizations together to celebrate community achievements and share in the excitement of IceDogs hockey."
