It’s turkey time and the time of year to give thanks, as Thanksgiving is on Monday, Oct. 13. Below are events and activities happening throughout the city on the long weekend, along with some closures on Thanksgiving.
St. Catharines Farmers Market
The St. Catharines Farmers Market will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. Check out live music on the Market Stage, featuring Barley Brae, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Market Discovery Table is sponsored by Frontier Barbers and will feature Pumpkin Varieties. Lastly, Niagara Transit will be on-site as part of the Community Engagement Series. Please note the last day for the outdoor portion of the market will be Oct 18. Lakeside Park Carousel
Last call - this is the final weekend the beloved Lakeside Park Carousel will be open in 2025. It will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The carousel is still only five cents per ride or admission by donation. For more information visit stcatharines.ca/Carousel.
Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm
Enjoy some time with the animals at Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm this weekend before they return to their homes after Pumpkinville on Oct 18. The park is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The park also includes a playground, picnic area and trails. Please note the washrooms at Happy Rolph’s will be closed after Oct 18. Culture Days
This marks the final weekend for Culture Days, the annual festival showcasing arts and culture. This year’s program will wrap up with a couple of walking downtown public art tours and a pair of art workshops at the St. Catharines Public Library. Visit stcatharines.ca/CultureDays for full details.
St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all weekend, including Monday, Oct. 13. Explore the museum exhibits to find out more about the City’s history. More information can be found at stcatharines.ca/museum.
Garden City Golf Course
There are still a few more weeks to get a round or two in at the Garden City Golf Course. Tee times are available daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can book a tee time by calling 905.688.5601 ext. 1677. More information about the course is posted on the City’s website - stcatharines.ca/golf. The final day of operation is set for Oct. 26.
St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre
The Aquatics Centre will be open regular hours on Saturday and Sunday, but will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13. You can find out more about the City’s aquatic programs on ActiveSTC.
Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre
Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre will be open Saturday and Sunday, but closed on Monday, Oct. 13. Public skating is scheduled for both days. Public skating is also available at the Bill Burgoyne Arena on Saturday.

Parks and trails
Explore approximately 1,000 acres of parks, gardens, open greenspace and trails in St. Catharines, including the Bruce Trail and other trails in Short Hills Provincial Park. Learn more at stcatharines.ca/Trails. Please note washrooms at parks/beaches will be closed for the season as of Oct 13.
Closures
