The City of St. Catharines has initiated a study to determine the preferred road cross section to implement on Ridley Road between Louth Street and Henrietta Street, south of Ridley College. Ridley Road is being reconstructed in anticipation of additional works to be completed to the proposed GO Station Site Upgrades and future residential development.
Project Overview |
Project Number: P19-065 Project Area: Ridley Road, from Louth Street to Henrietta Street Estimated Study Start Date: November, 2020 |
Study Purpose |
The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process will identify alternative cross sections to implement. Each alternative will be analyzed and evaluated based on the potential impacts to the natural, social, cultural and economic environments. A preferred alternative will be selected in consultation with the public, stakeholders and external agencies. The preferred road cross section will be available for public review at the end of the EA process before detailed design is undertaken. |
Study Process |
The project is being planned under ‘Schedule A+’ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. Following completion of the Class EA process, the project will move forward to detailed design, with construction to follow. |
Public Information Centre |
A key component of this study is public, agency, and stakeholder consultation. One Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held to obtain public input. Public Information Centre details will be advertised closer to the consultation date. |
