Vote by Mail

Vote by Mail is an alternative method of voting and will be offered by request only for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. The deadline to apply to Vote by Mail is now closed.

How Vote by Mail Works

• Applications for vote by mail was open using our online portal on August 17, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. and closed on September 11, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
• A voter kit will be mailed to an eligible elector who is on the Voters' List and has requested to vote by mail in late September.
• You can return your completed ballot by mail, or by dropping it off at a drop box location starting on October 13, 2026:
  • City Hall - City Clerk's Office 3rd Floor (Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026
  • Kiwanis Aquatic Centre during regular business hours until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026
  • Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Complex during regular business hours until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026

Return envelopes received after 4:30 p.m. on Voting Day (October 26, 2026) will not be opened and shall not be counted and will be date-stamped and retained for the statutory document retention period.

Important Information

If you requested to vote by mail, you will also receive a voter information card. It's okay! The reason you receive a voter information card is because your name is on the voters' list. You can disregard the voter information card.

You can only vote once. If you change your mind before you have returned your completed Vote by Mail voting package (containing your marked ballot and supporting documents), you must visit the City Clerk's Office to return your vote by mail package.

Once you return your Vote by Mail package (containing your marked ballot and supporting documents), your vote is complete and the option to vote in person is no longer available.
