The St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre offers aquatic fitness classes to meet everyone's needs and abilities.
Everyone inside the facility will be required to wear a mask or face covering, except when swimming or showering. Children under the age of five and those who are unable to wear a mask or a face covering as a result of a medical condition or disability are exempt.

Aquatic fitness programs in the lane pool and leisure pool are cancelled.
The City is encouraging people who are unable to participate in a Therapeutic class in the Leisure Pool to join a Leisure Swim.

All Activities are registered programs. Reservations for each class will start at 9 a.m. two days before the day of the class.If you are unable to come for your reservation time, please call at least two (2) hours before your time so someone else can participate during that time. If you miss your reservation, you will be put on a three (3) day hold and will not be able to book during those days.

All programs listed may not be offered during the summer session.AquafitThis program takes place in the shallow and deep areas of the lane pool. A fun exercise program combining the benefits of our shallow and deep aquafit. Emphasis is on cardiovascular fitness, conditioning and toning. Aquafit Boot CampAre you ready for the challenge of Boot Camp? This high intensity workout will put you through the paces of a fun and interactive water workout. This progressive program will all participants to set their own personal fitness goals while working to achieve their own personal bests. You need to be comfortable in deep water. Deep Water AquafitMust be able to swim 25 metres and be comfortable in deep water. Classes are held in deep water in the lane pool eliminating any impact on your joints, using the floatation belts for added support. Deep water classes are ideal for developing core strength and balance. Emphasis is on cardiovascular fitness, conditioning and toning. Forever FitThis instructor led program will feature fitness activities to enhance your quality of life. Range of motion, core strength, cardio, balance, flexibility and overall muscle strength exercises will be featured. Hip, Knee and BackIn this class for adults who are coping with hip and knee joint degeneration, the instructor will focus on range of motion for the joints, muscle conditioning, balance and postural training. Recommended for pre and post-operative conditions. Strong and SteadyOne in three people over the age of 65 will fall at least once this year. Studies have shown that physically strong individuals have better balance and are less likely to fall. Improving strength, balance and flexibility allows recovery from a fall and builds confidence. Warm water is an ideal, safe environment to train posture, agility, strength and coordination. Therapeutic AquaticsIn this class in the Leisure Pool, exercises will focus on improving daily functioning and mobility. Improve your posture, stretch your muscles, develop muscular strength and work your cardiovascular system through a variety of exercises. |
