Update: Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022
Please be advised that due to weather related delays, the ongoing City watermain replacement project, which was originally expected to be completed on Sunday, Feb. 20, will now be continuing until Tuesday, Feb. 22. The section of Lakeshore Road over the Welland Canal currently has one lane open and temporary traffic signals are in place to allow traffic in both directions. This will continue until 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23. St. Lawrence Seaway will need to fully close Lakeshore Road for one day beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23 for necessary bridge work prior to opening two lanes of traffic on Lakeshore Road over the Welland Canal.
Broadway is currently closed at Lakeshore Road and this closure will remain in place until the end of day on Tuesday, Mar. 1, 2022. Access to Broadway will remain open at the north end at Seaway Haulage Road. All sidewalks within any of the active construction zones will remain closed to pedestrian traffic for duration of the remaining construction.
The public is encouraged to use alternate routes during this period. Your assistance and co-operation in this regard is appreciated.
