Volunteer Recognition Awards 

Please note: The City of St. Catharines is closing several City facilities and modifying some services to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The 32nd Annual Volunteer Recognition Night has been postponed until further notice.

Given annually, the Volunteer Recognition Awards recognize those outstanding volunteers whose unselfish and dedicated service to an organization has made a significant difference in the community.

What is EngageSTC?
EngageSTC is a new a way for the community to learn about City projects and initiatives and share feedback with us. You'll notice EngageSTC is a little different than what we've used for online nomination forms in the past.

Creating an EngageSTC profile is quick and easy and allows us to keep you updated about the other initiatives the City is working on that you may be interested in.

How do I create a profile?
Creating an EngageSTC profile is quick and easy. Start by clicking the 'Sign Up' button and follow the instructions:

  • Create a username. Your participation will appear under your chosen username.
  • Create a password.
  • Provide your email address, postal code and birth year.
  • When entering your postal code enter it in the field and wait for it to appear from the drop-down menu. Select the correct postal code from the drop-down menu.
  • Review the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  • Check for a confirmation email.
  • Return to the EngageSTC home screen to sign in.

Volunteer Awards

Nominate your volunteer in the following categories:

  • Volunteer Recognition Award
  • Mayor's Adult Volunteer of the Year
  • Margaret and Robin MacLennan Youth Volunteer of the Year Award

MyHoodSTC Recognition Awards

The MyHoodSTC Recognition Awards are designed to foster a healthier St. Catharines by engaging and empowering residents to share what their neighbourhood means to them, working together, supporting each other, and celebrating their neighbourhood.

The awards are determined by ward, with two categories across all wards:

  • Youth Award: Given to an individual under the age of 25 who has shown a leadership role in their neighbourhood by improving the quality of life for residents.
  • Connection Award: Given to an individual who has initiated an activity that expresses a desire to do more to improve the quality of life for residents by designing an inclusive, diverse gathering in culture, age and ability.


Tickets must be purchased and reserved in advance of the event. Tickets will not be available at the door. 

City of St. Catharines Arts Awards

The St. Catharines Arts Awards recognize and celebrate excellence in all areas of artistic creation. The Arts Awards seek to increase the visibility of St. Catharines' artists and cultural industries, honour cultural leaders and their achievements, and cultivate financial and volunteer support for the arts sector.

Trillium Awards

The Trillium Awards recognize our greatest community assets: the individuals and groups who strive to improve our city through dedication, skills and vision. The Trillium Awards honour contributions in horticulture and greening; recognizing the beauty, meaning and authenticity they each bring to our lives.
