On June 8, 2015, under the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Budget Review Committee, City Council approved the establishment of a Budget Standing Committee. This committee was originally structured as a three year pilot project, however, the Committee has since continued their work and remains a key component of the budget process.
The Budget Standing Committee works on behalf of City Council to address high level strategic budget and policy decisions. The Committee will provide financial guidance and oversight from a broad perspective to assist and improve upon the City's budget process, as well as short, medium and long-term financial planning.
The Budget Standing Committee is comprised of six (6) members of Council and is supported by City staff.

At the January 7, 2019 Budget Standing Committee meeting, Councillor Mat Siscoe was appointed as the Committee Chair and Councillor Lori Littleton was appointed as Vice Chair for the four-year term of Council.
Administrative support to the Budget Standing Committee shall be provided by the Clerk's Office. The Council & Committee Coordinator will prepare and publish all agendas and minutes.
