Statement of Purpose |
The Museum Advisory Committee is a volunteer committee established to advise and assist City Council and staff on museum policy development, mandate review, and collection oversight, and to act as public advocates in support of the Museum's mandate. The Committee will be responsible for the following:
The Committee appoints sub-committees to support Historical Services special initiatives in the community such as Doors Open. Notwithstanding the Simplified Meetings Procedures for advisory bodies, the Museum Advisory Committee may invite non-member participation on its sub-committees at the discretion of the Committee. |
Composition |
The Committee shall be comprised of up to five citizen members as follows:

Reporting Structure |
This Committee reports to Council through the Cultural Sustainability Committee. The Chair of the Museum Advisory Committee will also be a member of the Cultural Sustainability Committee. Administrative support to the Museum Advisory Committee shall be provided by Parks, Recreation and Culture Services, which shall assign a secretary to the Committee. Additional staff resources as required from time to time will be provided by the department. |

The Museum Advisory Committee meets approximately six times per year, or at the discretion of the Chair. |

The Committee shall conduct its meetings in accordance with and otherwise comply with the City of St. Catharines Simplified Meeting Procedures for advisory bodies. |
