You can deliver court documents to the City by email to the City Clerk or the Deputy Clerk if the City Clerk is not available.
While electronic submission via email is preferred, court documents can be delivered to the City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk in person at the Legal and Clerks Services Counter at City Hall. Please contact Legal and Clerks Services at 905.688.5601 ext. 1517 to arrange a time when appropriate staff will be available.
If you are serving an originating process document, the City consents to delivery via email to the City Clerk by email.
Ensure that you include the following in your email:
Please note that if you send an email between 4 p.m. and midnight, service will be deemed to have been made the following day.
An Originating Process can also be served by leaving a copy of the document with the City Clerk or Deputy Clerk at the Legal and Clerks Services Counter at City Hall. Please contact Legal and Clerks Services at 905.688.5601 ext. 1517 to arrange a time when appropriate staff will be available.
