Share your vision for the Port Dalhousie piers

Posted on Wednesday June 29, 2016

June 29, 2016 – The City of St. Catharines wants residents to share their vision for the Port Dalhousie Piers.

City staff will be at major community events over the next three weeks to solicit feedback and encourage residents to complete a short survey on the Port Dalhousie piers. City staff will be at the Port Dalhousie Supper Market, downtown classic car show, Canada Day in Rennie Park, the summer concert series in Montebello Park and other events across St. Catharines. The City will also have a booth inside the Fairview Mall the weekend of July 9 and 10 and inside the Pen Centre July 16 and 17.

The Port Dalhousie Piers survey is also available online at Paper copies of the survey are available at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre and the Citizens First counter inside City Hall. The survey closes July 18.

Feedback from residents will be incorporated into a staff report to council outlining the City’s position on the future of the piers.

The Port Dalhousie piers are owned by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and leased by the City of St. Catharines. The piers were closed in April 2015 following a report by the DFO which recommended closing the piers based on damage to their substructure.
