Moccasin Talks: Understanding Indigenous Programs Such as Jordan's Principle

Gary Parker provides clarity and understanding about who Indigenous Peoples are, including who they were prior to contact and who they are today. He will discuss the role of Indigenous community workers and spend time examining various services such as Jordan’s Principle, a child-first public service which ensures First Nations children and youth are able to access the help they need, when they need it, without prejudice. Gary will explore what measures still need to be put into place in order to create a safer and healthier environment for Indigenous youth.
