VOTE NOW FOR ST. CATHARINES TO BE INCLUDED IN CANADIAN MONOPOLY St. Catharines has been included in the top 65 Canadian cities chosen for the next MONOPOLY. Now, the cities will battle to earn their place in the top 20 to be included in the game. The city that earns the most votes will be placed on the highest rent property. WINTER CONTROL Snow removal on all City streets and Regional Roads in St. Catharines is performed by the Operations Division. Roads and streets are plowed and/or salted as soon as possible, however, we do have priorities as to the order and frequency that they are serviced. ePlay The City of St. Catharines would like to welcome you to ePlay the new online facility viewer. This fast and convenient eservice is accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week. ePlay is being released in multiple phases. Currently you can view facility information and identify available rental times for arenas.
2010 DRAFT BUDGET & BUDGET SURVEY What city services are important to you? Is there any services you feel should be reduced? Give us some feedback so we can try to better serve you. Please fill out and submit the 2010 Budget Survey so we can take into account your questions, concerns, and general comments. Our Ad Hoc Budget Committee will be hosting OPEN HOUSES on February 2nd at Dunlop Drive Senior Centre from 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m. as well as February 16th at Seymour Hannah Arena (Meridian Room) from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m.
SIGNAGE ON PUBLIC PROPERTY As part of the City’s initiative to better enforce the Sign By-law and to assist in the elimination of illegal signage in the City of St. Catharines, Staff have been actively enforcing the provisions of the Sign By-law. Staff have received many complaints in regard to the abundance of signage located on City boulevards.
URBAN DESIGN GUIDELINES Council has approved the first set of proposed urban design guidelines for new development or re-development for small residential lots, residential condominium townhouses and commercial developments. REGION IS PREPARED FOR H1N1 (SWINE FLU) The Niagara Region website is updated daily to keep residents informed. You can call the Human Swine Flu Information Line at 905-688-8248 , ex. 7950 or toll free at 1-888-505-6074 . These information lines are for the general public are open Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
PROSPERITY AGENDA The Paths to Prosperity Report positions St. Catharines as a community with opportunities to build economic sustainability into the 21st century. It is about creating new opportunities, organically growing business and jobs and building the foundations for vibrant, prosperous communities for the next 30 years and beyond.
FUTURE ARTS CENTRE - CITY/BROCK FEASIBILITY STUDY City Council have identified the Niagara Centre for the Arts as a capital priority for this term. In partnership with Brock University, the City has commissioned a Feasibility Study to assess the potential for a Cultural and Academic Development in downtown St. Catharines. This 410-page draft study is now available for review.
OFFICIAL PLAN REVIEW The Draft new Official Plan (The Garden City Plan) for the City has been released for public comment and will be the subject of public meeting/open house sessions to be held at various locations throughout the municipality between February 10, 2010 and March 4, 2010.
MUNICIPAL AQUATIC CENTRE City Council has identified a new municipal aquatic centre as a capital priority. The facility will be located at Lester B. Pearson Park, and the project is entering the design phase.
CAPITAL PRIORITIES PLANNING SESSION At their meeting on February 4, 2008 City Council engaged in a capital priorities planning session and selected the following projects as priorities for the coming years.
