Youth and Adult Swimming Lessons

Youth Swimming Lessons

Swim Teens Basics Level 1 & 2 (10 years & over)

In this class for youth, participants will increase their comfort level and confidence in the water through floats, glides, kicking and swimming. Participants will work with their instructor to set goals and priorities to build on their own skill level.

Swim Teens Stroke Correction (10 years & over)

In this class for youth, participants will develop one or more swimming strokes, working toward proficiency and increased endurance. Participants will work with their instructor to choose the strokes and set goals and priorities. This course is ideal for youth looking to develop their strokes or in preparation for taking the Red Cross Assistant Water Safety Instructor Course.

Swim Teens Aquatic Endurance (10 years & over)

In this class youth, participants will develop one or more swimming strokes, working toward proficiency and increased endurance. Participants will work with their instructor to choose the strokes and set goals and priorities. This course is ideal for adults and youths looking to develop their strokes to train for a triathlon or to build their fitness levels.

Canadian Swim Patrol (9 to 12 years)

In this three-level class, participants will develop swim strokes and skills while having fun. Swim Patrol develops swimming strength and efficiency with emphasis on Water Smart behaviour. Rookie Patrol features stroke development, 100m timed swim and a frist aid focus on conscious victims. Ranger Patrol develops a strong lifesaving foundation with a timed object support, rescue of a victim, and first aid focus on unconscious victims. Star Patrol will challenge swimmers with a 300m timed swim, a 25m object carry, teach defense methods and victim removals. The Swim Patrol levels provide enriched training for children who are ready to go beyond learn to swim.

Sport Fitness (10 to 14 years)

In this class, participants will be introduced to sport skills exercising both mind body with upper and lower body conditioning, stroke improvement over increasing distances, sprints and endurance training. Emphasis will be on team building, fair play, ethics in sport, and personal responsibility.

 Adult Swimming Lessons
