Rink #4 at Seymour-Hannah Sports and
Entertainment Centre Temporarily Closed

Rink #4 at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre is temporarily closed while staff investigate an issue with its concrete pad.

City staff noticed the pad in rink #4 was heaving during the 2014/2015 season and removed the ice this summer to investigate the pad. Once the ice was removed staff realized the concrete pad was heaving more than previously thought and have since been investigating to discover the cause.

Next steps

The City will be bringing in consultants to assist with the investigation, but at this time there is no timeline for when rink #4 will reopen. A report is being presented to City Council Nov. 30 outlining the repairs as well as the cost and timeline to complete the repairs.

Updates

As we learn more about rink #4 it will be posted on this webpage
