Merritt Trail 

Address / Location

The Merritt Trail begins at Bradley Street in south St. Catharines, continues through to Martindale Road in west St. Catharines and connects with the Green Ribbon Trail.

Trail Closure:

The Merritt Trail will be closed between Brewery St. and McGuire St. until Fall 2016 to accommodate the reconstruction of the Burgoyne Bridge; a detour route is signed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Overview

This 11-kilometre trail is not continuous, so walkers wishing to follow the trail from beginning to end are advised to pick up a map.

History enthusiasts will thoroughly enjoy viewing many of the old sections of the once-active Second Welland Canal. Stone dust provides an ideal pathway for foot travellers and bicyclists alike.

Hours of Operation

This trail is accessible from dawn to dusk.
