This three-kilometre trail runs north until it ends at a stone seating area at the base of a small lighthouse in Port Weller. It's the northernmost portion of the Greater Niagara Circle Route and cyclists travelling the route have to make a short detour to get to the end of the spit. The trail is named after George Nicholson, former Niagara Region planner, avid cyclist and fervent Circle Route booster.
Public access to the last 750 m of George Nicholson Memorial Trail will be restriced between Sept. 10 and the middle of December for work by the St. Lawrence Seaway.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
