Oversize/Overweight Vehicle Permits

Overview

Truck permits are required when an oversized load has to be moved within the City of St. Catharines. The permit only covers travel on City roadways. If travel on a Regional road is required then approval must be given by Niagara Region.

The applicant must provide a minimum of $5-million liability insurance with The Corporation of the City of St. Catharines named as co-insured or additional insured.

Process

Applicants must provide a legible sketch of and information about the dimensions of the vehicle, the route the vehicle will be taking including the origin and destination and the time periods of the move.   

The completed application form should be signed and faxed to the attention of the Road Services Technician.

Fees

There is no cost for the permit.
