Family Day holiday information

Free skating, free swimming and more on Family Day

Join us for Family Day in the City Monday, Feb. 20 and enjoy the following family-favourite activities

Free Skating

Lace up your skates an have an 'ice time with the family at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre.

11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Enjoy free skating sponsored by Family and Children's Services.

Other public skating programs, including Preschool Stick and Puck, are available throughout the day for a minimal fee.

Free Swimming

Jump in the pool at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre and enjoy free leisure swims throughout the day.

Pop Up Play Fun Zone

Enjoy free games, crafts, face painting and other fun family activities at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.

Noon to 5 p.m.

St. Catharines Museum

Explore the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre with out-of-the-vault exhibits, behind-the-scenes tours, hands-on heritage activities and more. Admission by donation.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre

Celebrate the Scotties Tournament of Hearts with a special presentation of the 2012 Canadian film Men with Brooms at the Film House at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. Free admission with purchase from concession.

Screenings begin at noon, 2:15 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Holiday closures

The following City of St. Catharines facilities will be closed for Family Day, Monday, Feb. 20:

  • City Hall
  • Enterprise Centre
  • Dunlop Drive, Port Dalhousie and West St. Catharines older adult centres
  • Russell Avenue and Port Weller community centres
  • Victoria Lawn Cemetery offices (visitation is always available from dawn to dusk)

St. Catharines Transit

St. Catharines Transit will operate on its holiday schedule on Family Day, Monday, Feb. 20.

Transit returns to its regular schedule on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Visit for more information about bus schedules and routes.

Emergency Contacts
