What is it?
The City of St. Catharines Flood Alleviation Program (FLAP) provides grants of up to $3,000 to homeowners who have documented recurring sanitary back-ups as a result of sewer surcharging.How does it work?
When a back-up occurs, the homeowner can call the program co-ordinator, who will review the situation. Each house is reviewed individually to ensure the eligible work will provide the required protection. When the review is completed, the co-ordinator will then advise the homeowner of their eligibility and options.
FLAP consists of a grant to offset the cost of eligible work, which may include:
