Through its role reviewing and analyzing draft urban design documents prepared by municipal staff, the Urban Design Technical Advisory Committee provides feedback, suggests alternatives and assists in formulating solutions for urban design policies, guidelines, implementation tools such as updated zoning requirements and the development and design manual.

That through the application of urban design principles the built form of St. Catharines shall respect and highlight the natural and historic Garden City.
To provide input and advice to municipal staff on urban design which will assist in the creation and maintenance of highly functional and beautiful neighbourhoods.
Membership is open to all residents of the City of St. Catharines with
technical skills and experience in architecture, construction, landscape
architecture, environmental science and technology, art and design or a
similar field relevant to urban design.
All representatives who have been appointed through the City's citizen appointment process may vote.
Members shall observe all corporate policies of the City of St. Catharines with respect to the Code of Conduct and Harassment policies and make every effort to attend all meetings.
The Committee has been established until the Urban Design Study is completed.
