Recreation Master Plan Advisory Committee

Statement of Purpose

The Recreation Master Plan Advisory Committee is a volunteer committee established to provide advice to Council and staff; and at the request of Council shall review staff reports, strategies and project plans responding to Recreation and Facility Programming Master Plan recommendations to ensure their adherence to the updated guiding principles contained within the master plan.

Composition 

The committee includes 7 citizen members with demonstrated interest and commitment to the delivery of quality municipal recreation services, programs and facilities and are willing to work toward the effective implementation of strategic direction provided within the 2015 Recreation and Facility Programming Master Plan and whom collectively comprise a balanced representation of the community.

Reporting Structure 

The Recreation Master Plan Advisory Committee reports to Council through the Social Sustainability Committee. The Chair of the Advisory Committee is also a member of the Social Sustainability Committee.

Administrative support to the Committee is provided by the Parks, Recreation and Culture Services Department.

Meeting Schedule and Location

The committee meets on the third Tuesday every other month, or at the call of the Chair as required to address direction from Council.

Meetings are held at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatic Centre (Irene Locke Room) (based on availability) or at City Hall.
