Welcome to the 2010 Municipal and School Board Election information page.

Election Day is Monday, Oct. 25, 2010.

Voters in St. Catharines will cast their ballots for mayor, city councillors, regional councillors and separate and public school board trustees.

Casting a ballot allows voters to choose who will make decisions about the facilities, services and programs in our community.

This website will be updated regularly with information about the 2010 Municipal and School Board Election and candidates, including candidate profiles, which are provided for the information of voters.

The Municipal Election office is located at City Hall in the City Clerk's Office.

News

On Dec. 17, 2009, Bill 212, Schedule 21, Section 8 of Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (MEA), reform was proclaimed.

Highlights of the Amendments

Voting day moved from November 8, 2010 to October 25, 2010. All dates that are fixed on voting day will change accordingly.

Nominations may be filed from Jan. 4, 2010 to Sept. 9, 2010 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2010.

Withdrawal of nominations will be permitted until 2 p.m. on nomination day, Sept. 10, 2010.
