Why are you running in the Municipal Election?
" There is some unfinished business for me at the Region.
Number 1 is the Reform of Regional Government : A Regional Chair elected by the voters and , eliminate the "Region only" Councillors. Elect a few city councillors from each city to do double duty at Region and city. Less 2 tier and more Team Niagara.
Other unfinished business: single tier sewer and water service,
Go Rail and Regional Transit
Welland Canals Corridor Strategy for both Historic designation of the old and more business for the current Canal."
Biography
Bruce Timms is a Professional Engineer, with experience in the construction industry, currently operating a sole proprietor house inspection business.
He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, St.Catharines Lakeshore Rotary Club, St.John's Anglican Church in Port Dalhousie.
First elected in 1991, Bruce serves as Chair of the Greater Niagara Circle Route Steering Committee, Public Works and Integrated Comm.Planning Committee, Public Health and Social Services Committee and is a board member of Niagara Regional Housing.
Bruce has lead the Regional effort to have the Historic Welland Canals designated as a National Historic site .
