Niagara Dance Company

The Niagara Dance Company is a contemporary dance company rooted in the St. Catharines. The company was founded by Kathleen Hughes and Mary Jo Mullins to increase public awareness and access to the art of dance. The company is dedicated to creating a repertoire of original dance work, to performing and presenting Canadian dance, and to bringing a diversity of aesthetic styles to the stage.

Niagara Dance Company produces and presents new work annually. Performances have included the works of such artists as Patricia Beatty, Val Calam, Elizabeth Chitty, David Earle, Kathleen Hughes, Graham McKelvie, and Mary Jo Mullins and that of company members and local artists. The company also offers classes, workshops, a summer intensive program and a unique mentorship program to enrich the emerging dance artist through training and performance with the company. Niagara Dance Company is actively engaged in various projects and initiatives designed to develop dance audience and grow community through the arts.
