St. Catharines' visual arts and heritage collections are a source of delight, information and inspiration, whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular. Public and private galleries offer rotating exhibits for those interested in the contemporary arts, showcases of local artists and their work, and opportunities to grow a collection of your own.
St. Catharines' rich history is preserved and interpreted at the St. Catharines Museum, one of Niagara's pre-eminent heritage institutions. The Welland Canals Centre is also home to the Lacrosse Hall of Fame, which promotes the rich history of this sport in Ontario.
For those with an interest in genealogical information, the Special Collection at the St. Catharines Library and the Mayholme Family Geneological Centre are two treasured institutions with helpful staff and volunteers ready to assist.
