Kitsch 4 Canada | 2017 City of St. Catharines Annual Juried Exhibition
May 1 to Nov. 4, 2017
To many, kitsch is the opposite of art. With our proximity to the souvenir hotbed of Niagara Falls, and in celebration of Canada's sesquicentennial, the City of St. Catharines' Public Art Advisory Committee wants to celebrate the souvenir.
Niagara artists are invited to make kitsch that can be passed off as art. The kitsch can be real or imagined: all successful entries will cast an examining eye on the prevalence of the kitsch object in our society.
Submissions of original artwork created within the past three (3) years will be considered from professional, student and amateur artists. Artists will be paid an exhibition fee and their work will be considered for acquisition for the City of St. Catharines' Civic Art Collection.
Deadline: Monday, March 13, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.

Each year the City of St. Catharines presents a variety of Summer Concert programming at Market Square, Montebello Park and other park settings to provide community members with free outdoor music experiences. These concerts bring alive our parks and green spaces, enhance our farmers market and add vitality to the urban areas of downtown throughout the summer.
The City of St. Catharines invites all musicians to submit their interest via application to the Summer Concert Series. Submissions from original and cover recording artists as well as established and emerging artists are welcome.
Applications will now be accepted throughout the year, and included in a permanent database of performers.
