City Clerk Council & Committee Services The Clerk provides a secretariat to serve the City Council and its standing committees in the preparation of agendas for and the recording of minutes of meetings, and the tracking, preparation, and distribution of correspondence and/or directives emanating therefrom. Appointments to Boards and Committees of City Council are coordinated through the office of the City Clerk.
Administrative & Legislative Services The Clerk is responsible for the safekeeping of all official records of the City of St. Catharines including by-laws, agreements and contracts. Conducts the Municipal and School Board Elections in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act and acts as division registrar for the Provincial Registrar General’s office carrying out the registration of births, deaths and the issuance of marriage licences. Legislative services provided by the Clerk also include Municipal Freedom of Information legislation, business, dog and lottery licensing, and canine control. Administrative services include the City’s mailroom and central telephone switchboard.
Human Resources Responsibilities include labour relations; employee benefits; staffing and employment; health and safety; training and development programs; human resource policies.
Information Systems Responsibilities include support and development of all computerized systems and operation of the City´s Print Shop maintains and update the City´s web site.
