The Commissioners For Taking Affidavits Act (provincial) empowers Municipal Clerks and other officials to take various types of declarations, to certify documents, and to administer oaths.
The City Clerk provides this service and has established specific hours and fees during which “Commissioning” services are provided to the public. These times and fees are set out below:
Commissioning of Affidavits (Documents Requiring Signature)
- City Produced documents, Canadian passport documents and Canadian foreign pension documents ... No charge
- For the signing and/or initialling and/or sealing only, of a document presented in a fully completed condition ... $11.00 per document
- For certifying a copy of a document ... $11.00 per document
Please Note: You will be required to show some form of government identification such as a birth certificate, driver’s licence or passport.
This service is provided in the City Clerk´s office during the following times: 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday to Friday.
